But what if she drops the eggs?

20170510_144052Keeping it real. Here’s a real life example of trying to practice what I preach:

I had a ‘little helper’ in the kitchen with me this morning. She insisted on picking up the eggs one by one and examining them. I immediately became aware of this thought: “but what if she drops the eggs?” Instead of letting this take over, I tried to focus on her curiosity and delight in making discoveries. I even wrote a haiku to remember the moment, and how I chose to take different perspective.

TRY THIS: Try taking a different perspective of a situation that is causing some amount of distress. How can you see things differently? When you do, use a creative medium to mark the moment.
