FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?
1. Schedule a free consultation call to discuss logistics.
2. Create personalized counseling plan together during first session.
3. Begin to feel relief and clarity.

How much of your fees are usually covered by insurance?
Each insurance plan is different, so it is impossible to give an estimate without verifying your specific benefits with your insurance company. We make sure we verify and discuss benefits with all clients prior to the first counseling session, so you feel completely comfortable and in-the-know about your specific benefits.

Will I be given a diagnosis?
Insurance companies usually require a diagnosis in order to file an insurance claim. Diagnoses are made, for this purpose, using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5).

What are the benefits of self-pay?
Many people feel uncomfortable with insurance companies potentially having access to diagnoses and medical records, and therefore choose to self-pay.

Do you need a referral?
No. You do not need a referral to begin the counseling process.

Do you write prescriptions?
No. I do not prescribe any type of medication. You should discuss any interest in medication management with your primary care doctor, psychiatrist, or other medical provider. If you need help finding a medication provider, I can provide a referral.
